Nogali Viagens is specialized in services of reception and many other destinies within the city of Rio de Janeiro. Rio offers an extensive mix of cultures to its visitors, a cosmopolitan city, and a fantastic scene of paradise to photographers and amateurs.
Pan de Azúcar
The Sugar Loaf (1300 feet or 400 meters high) is one of the highest and most famous mountains of Rio and it offers a panoramic view of the city and its beaches. The six-minute ride by cable car, which takes you to the top of the mountain, is a fantastic experience. Rio is located in the southeast zone, with some marinas around this mountain, from where you can have a wonderful natural view of the Guanabara Bay.
Christ Redeemer
A bit further into the city, we can find the Corcovado, a mountain twice as high as the Sugar Loaf, with 2,310 feet or 704 meters of height, which supports the Christ Redeemer statue (125 feet or 38 meters high). Through a road built for cars and for a special little train, one can obtain a splendid view of the panorama. From the top of the mountain, one can also see the whole city. The panorama of Rio is breathtaking, and the concrete of the buildings, together with the sky and all the landscape, build up the greatest attraction!
The Botanical Garden
An internationally known Botanical Garden, covered by 123 acres (50 hectares) of natural forest, with the highest palm trees in the world and 5.000 different types of plants. “Quinta da Boa Vista”, which was the ranch of the First and the Second Brazilian Emperors, Pedro I and Pedro II, has been transformed into the National Museum, founded in 1818, and also into the National Zoo.
The Beaches
The best time to come and visit the city of Rio, considering the climate, is between the months of May and August, when there is some fresh and soft wind, and the temperature goes around 22 and 32 degrees Celsius (or 72 to 90 F). Between December and March, when the weather is hot but rainy and very humid, the temperature can reach over 40 degrees Celsius (or 104 F); and yet the weather is not as oppressive and hot as it is in the North of Brazil.
Downtown
It´s in the city centre where Rio started to grow. There are lots of legendary constructions, historical parks and monuments, which tell the story of Rio. The best starting point for a historical Tour is the Cinelandia Square. On the right of this Square, we can find the Municipal Theater and the Pedro Ernesto Palace, nowadays the Local Government Chamber. There also are movie theaters, which tell the story from the beginning of the century, and a famous sidewalk little bar, known as the “Amarelinho” (little yellow).
The Hippie Fair
“Feira Hippie” – The official fair of Ipanema´s Craftwork is remaining from the 70´s. Typical food, handicraft, musical instruments, and many other attractions can be found at weekends. It is the perfect place to buy souvenirs with the local colors. Or you could also just have a nice walk and enjoy the moment.
